Xu Lingfu, a Daoist priest from Tianmu Mountain in Zhejiang Province. He was known for his simplicity and modesty, and lived in a stone cave on the mountain. He was a master of the Three Caverns Scripture and was said to have achieved immortality.

Xu Lingfu's life story is not well documented, but it is said that he lived during the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD) and was a contemporary of other famous Daoist priests such as Chen Xiangyi and Zhang Daoling.

According to legend, Xu Lingfu was born into a family of scholars but rejected worldly pursuits in favor of spiritual cultivation. He spent many years studying the scriptures and practicing meditation on Tianmu Mountain.

One day, Xu Lingfu received a visit from Emperor Xuanzong (r. 712-756 AD), who sought his advice on matters of state. Impressed by Xu's wisdom, the emperor appointed him as an official advisor.

Despite his new role, Xu remained humble and continued to live in seclusion on Tianmu Mountain. His reputation as a wise and powerful Daoist priest spread far beyond Zhejiang Province, attracting visitors from all over China.

Xu Lingfu died at the age of 82 while still living on Tianmu Mountain. His legacy has endured for centuries, inspiring generations of Daoists to follow in his footsteps.

The poem "Tianmu Shangren" () by Xu Lingfu is one of his most famous works:

"In my quiet hermitage,

I cultivate my spirit,

Free from worldly concerns,

I am content with simple food.

My mind is clear,

My body strong,

I am at peace with myself."

This poem reflects Xu's philosophy that true happiness comes from within oneself through spiritual cultivation rather than external wealth or power.

In conclusion,

The text provides information about three notable figures: Salamae (Salome), Oenomaus (Onomaeus), Euphrates (Euphratea).

They were all followers

of Jesus Christ.

Their lives were marked by faithfulness

to God.

They demonstrated love towards their fellow human beings.

They had courage

in facing challenges.
