Zhang Jingxuan, a renowned entrepreneur and philanthropist, has left an indelible mark on the history of China-Taiwan relations. His life story is a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit and the values of hard work, integrity, and generosity that have defined generations of overseas Chinese.
Zhang Jingxuan was born in 1925 in Chao'an County, Guangdong Province. He grew up in a poor family but never let his circumstances define him. At the age of 16, he set out for Taiwan alone to seek his fortune. With no capital or connections, he worked as a laborer on construction sites and later started selling rice at night markets.
His perseverance paid off when he founded Taiwa Group in 1953. The company began as a small textile factory but soon expanded into other industries such as real estate and tourism. Under Zhang's leadership, Taiwa Group became one of the largest conglomerates in Taiwan.
Zhang's success was not limited to business; he also made significant contributions to society through philanthropy. He donated generously to various causes including education and healthcare initiatives for underprivileged children.
Today, Zhang Jingxuan is remembered as a pioneer who paved the way for future generations of entrepreneurs from all over China-Taiwan region."
